Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Disney’s California Adventure Park

Time

I took this in the evening while the sun was setting definitely more toward the end of the sun setting.

Lighting

This show shows the beauty of the cooler lighting toward the end of a sunset. In vibrant and bright places like California Adventure with that iconic Ferris wheel in the background. I was nervous it would be too dark but I had my 85mm with me so we were able to capture a lovely moment in time.

Equipment

No equipment just my very very steady hands

Inspiration

This was during an engagement shoot and we were actually done taking photos for the day but we were walking toward the boardwalk and this image laid itself out perfectly. It was a perfect background I couldn’t pass up so I had the fiancé lift his fiancée and it worked out so well. You still see the hustle and bustle of how busy the park is but it is focused on their precious moment in time.

Editing

I boosted the vibrance for this image and saturation so the Ferris wheel and her dress popped a little more.

In my camera bag

At the moment I just carry several lenses to interchange.

Feedback

I love working with couples. Spontaneous shot a of the couple being themselves usually turn out the best. I love engagement shoots to capture the happiness and love of the couple. These two are at their favorite place and sharing their excitement of being engaged. A lot of laughter and making the clients comfortable can go a long way. Also even if you think a shoot is over something unexpected can align itself and you can be presented with another opportunity. Don’t miss out on it when it comes. The best thing I can hear from a couple is that I captured their love and when they look at the photos their feelings from that moment come back up. It makes me love the art of photography more and more.
