This is the first picture from my photo tour 2018. The first spot we wanted to photograph was Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, but we had bad luck with the weather and it should get even worse the next days… If you are interested you can have a look at a short 2-minutes video from our trip on my facebook page:

This image was shot handheld right from the parking lot in Hohenschwangau and in the end it was the only usable image from there. We went up to the castle, climbed fences, fightet the wood, the mud and the rain to find a pleasing viewpoint, all in vain.
The rain got heavier, the fog thicker and the beautiful castle wasn’t visible anymore behind the thick layers of fog, rain and clouds.

Absolutely stunning photo! I know you were disappointed that the fog came in. I understand that, but it increases the value of this treasure! A lot of people get a photos it on sunny days, but, ah, you are among that small, elite group who capture both it's beauty and mystery in little precious windows of time. Be cause of the time of year and your great composition, the trees add to it's beauty without competing with it. Well done!

Not bad luck. this is interesting, and since it not clear and in your face, you have to "look" well to really see. I find it very pleasing and more of a fairy tale.
