Beautiful composition in this photo too. The hawk perched on one foot… is a bonus!
It happens to me too: I go to the forest or park wishing to take pics of a certain bird and I take pictures of another bird or butterfly instead. Never know what I will get.
True. We need to be out in the nature often.. there are surprise for us. :)

We took a long and steep path down the Arai Tekdi (hill) to see the peacocks...but when we were so near them they ran away in the bush. It was my mistake.

What a sad moment, I thought to myself and I gave the camera to my better half. He said enjoy the nature, clicks are secondary.

I looked at the tree on my left. This Shikra, a bird of prey, seemed to be waiting for me. I grabbed back the camera and took 5 clicks before it flew away. :)


Little banded goshawk, female bird are slightly larger, they have a less red (yellowish orange) iris .
