Location
The photo was taken near my home on a lovely clearing in the woods.Time
I remember this well it was a warm sunny evening, walking with my dog and camera and I just decided as the sun was going down to try a few shots. So with my camera perched on a log and on timer, hey presto I achieved one of my favourite photos.Lighting
I wanted to make a shadowy figure with the sun in the back ground and something to focus on in front (the grass seed), all natural lighting coming from the glorious colours from the sun and skies with a little warmth added when editing.Equipment
I used my canon sx50hs and that was it, definitely my most versatile camera and my favourite.Inspiration
I love all the old balmy photos of the 70s and the cadburys flake adverts that were so popular at that time and just thought I could do a take on that making each section stand out, background sun, middle me, foreground grass seed.Editing
I just added a touch of warmth to the photo as the colours were already there.In my camera bag
Just a camera, i'm a shoot and run type of person and normally take between 1000-2000 photos a day of anything that catches my eye or anything I think would look good with a bit of manipulation.Feedback
Gosh, just get out as much as you can before the sun goes down and snap away, you will start seeing all the marvellous colours in the skies and how the sun can be used to your advantage.
