THank you, a scene out of the midwest it looks like but it was here on Maui!

Behind The Lens

Location

I Love this shot of the clouds in the distance as it was taken on the side of the road near Paia Maui. What used to be tall fields of sugar cane and grasses now show a very open pasture.

Time

This was near the time of sunset as you can see the colors there in the background but the clouds right after a big storm as I turned my head while driving as saw these cloud formations. ever reminding me of the midwest

Lighting

As I said above the light was natural and after a big storm

Equipment

I primarily use a Sony A7Rii with 18-200mm lens. No flash, handheld

Inspiration

What inspired me simply put is looking back and seeing this as I was driving by so I stopped and got out, crossed the road a snap!

Editing

Yes I simply enhanced the clouds then added the dog for fun!

In my camera bag

I primarily use the Sony A 7RII with a SEL 18-200mm F 3.5-6.3 lens. I also carry a backup , the Canon Rebel 5 but rarely use it anymore. Although the Canon is not my favorite, one never knows when I will need those lenses or the camera. It is always wise to carry MORE. In my backpack extras of everything including car chargers, plenty of batteries and memory cards as I shoot in RAW format.I carry also the tripod and monopod with me and an umbrella, flashlight, and Macro tubes.Always learning and so my equipment grows with it. I don't forget the business cards and ipad. I try to be prepared for any shot that could come along.

Feedback

I am a landscape photographer primarily so I need Patience and lots of it at times! With the I love of taking surf shots , beach scenes. Practice and look for opportunities as there are many, shot anything and everything but compose the picture! Living here on Maui many times I have no time to think and compose and it is much a split second moment, a moment that often never passes again. I get the most amazing pictures in the most unusual ways so I stretch the mind and the sight to often see what others do not. It does not matter really what others think, is it a sellable shot, it is what I think and did I live up to my own expectation?
