'Sparrow Art'
The Sparrow... 'little brown birds' that love the brush. There are a number of species.... with so many looking so similar it is difficult to ID them.
Take this bird. I have decided it is a Swamp Sparrow. In the field, I thought it was a Lincoln's Sparrow. But when I checked my Sibley's guide, I came up with Swamp.
Whatever the species, I love the overall composition of this image. The brown tones of the bokeh as well as the near brush blend well with the various colors of this bird, but don't drown it out.
This image is available for sale at my Fine Art America store.

Hi Bill... I thought it was as well, however the is definitely a Swamp Sparrow. There are a few field marks that differentiate the two, but they are very close. I had a number of experts with more experience than myself check this and it was by consensus that this was not a Lincoln's. I wish it was!!
