Really like this.

Behind The Lens

Location

Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia

Time

Just before sunrise - 06:40

Lighting

The sun is just below the horizon and will soon break the soft hues.

Equipment

Nikon D4S and Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8 ED

Inspiration

I was fortunate that there was another hot air balloon, as without it there would be no point of reference and nothing but a desert landscape, making any image dull and flat. However, this was a very fleeting moment, as the air made us drift apart shortly after this shot.

Editing

Darkened midtones. Reduced highlight, shadows, whites and blacks. Increased vibrance and clarity.

In my camera bag

D4s & D5. Nikkor 400mm, Nikkor 150mm macro, Nikkor 24-70mm. Rain covers. Extra batteries.

Feedback

Always be ready so you are able to capture whatever opportunity arises.
