Friends breed these silver labs. They invited me over to photograph them. I jump a the opportunity. They are adorable pups!Time
I received a call asking if I wanted to photograph these puppies around 1 p.m. I know mid afternoon is probably the worst time of the day to take photos, but when the subjects are this cute, you can get away with bad light. This photo was taken at 1:56 p.m. on July 26.Lighting
I didn't use any reflectors or scrims. This is a natural light photo. The puppy was in full sun light with the sun off to my right and a bit behind me. The harsh light did bring our very nice contrast in the puppy's fur. The bright blue sky created a slight catchlight in the eyes.Equipment
I used my Canon 1DX with a 24-70mm 2.8ff handheld with a polarizing filter to cut down glare and add some saturation to the sky and grass.Inspiration
I think it is pretty obvious what inspired this photo, it was the subject. Sliver labs are incredibly cute puppies. I don't think you can take a bad photo of one of these beauties.Editing
The only post I did was a slight bump of the dehaze slider in lightroom. I usually sharpen my photos with a mask applied, but I didn't on this photo.In my camera bag

Puppies need to be photographed at eye level, this means you better be on your stomach unless you have an oscillating screen on the back of your camera.
