I live south of that, but only thought to get shots from afar. Nice use of lines.

Location
These photos of the very large Array radio telescopes taken in the Northeast Plains of San Agustin, near Socorro, in New Mexico at a elevation of 7,030 feet.Time
It was early in the afternoon, around 1:pm. We had left the White Sands National Monument also in New Mexico and suddenly, hours later, these radio towers came into view. I had never seen any thing like this before and I have to admit that it was a little spooky not knowing what they were until we read the info that was posted. Just an amazing moment!Lighting
This was taken back in 2013 and I was just getting serious about photography and was not aware of the use of lens filters which would have been very helpful as it was a sunny day. I had to take a lot of shots before I was happy with my settings.Equipment
I used the Olympus E-10, my first DSLR camera and nothing else. Now, when we go on road trips, the back seat of the car is loaded with a lot of gear, I never want to be unprepared for that special shot again when we are on long road trips.Inspiration
It was such an unexpected find that was truly amazing. The quiet beauty of the desert against the towers was such a contrast. I moved around and took many shots from different angles.Editing
I used the Olympus editing, but later went back when I had a acquired some different editing software programs and did a redo to bring out the sky and sharpen. I had to be careful to not do to much because of the low pixel. In my camera bag
My main camera of choice is my Nikon 750, but the lens depends on what I know that I am photographing. I built a selection of lens, but what ever I want to use, I always put the Nikon 50mm in my bag along with filters, hoods, extra batteries , memory card and the Puffer in case I want to use the flash. I have an extra tripod in my car at all times.Feedback
For me, this photo represents the beginning and learning of my deep love of photography. Be prepared and go for it. If you see something that makes you look twice. Notice where the sun is and how you want to use it. Remember composition and tell a story with your photo. Play with your settings, be creative.
