The shoebill stands nearly 5 feet tall and lives up to 35 years. It eats ells, fish, snakes and even small crocodiles. Photographed in the Mabamba Swamp near Entebbe, Uganda. IUCN list the Shoebill as vulnerable (VU) and reports the total wild population of shoebills at 3,300 to 5,300 mature individuals which is has been decreasing.
