I had spent all day on an airplane and then a few more hours driving from Seattle down to Astoria, but I wasn't complaining since I was at a new place--this was my first time in the PNW and so far I was loving it. Exhausted from my trip, I went to my room and got some rest before heading out for dinner and scout the land for a good vantage point of the bridge. After I got some much-needed food, I walked along the boardwalk, found my spot and set up to watch the sunset over the Columbia River. I took several shots eventually settled on this vantage point. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't get the entire bridge in the shot, but this was good enough (fatigue had finally set in and I was ready to call it a night). Trying to squeeze out every last bit of light and color, decided a long exposure. After the first test shot, I saw the pillars rising out of the water like ghosts. It was then that I decided what to call this photo.
