What a thrill raising several Monarchs from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to beautiful butterfly. This shot was taken on the day we released them. Before flying off on their long trek to Mexico, we made sure they grabbed some last minute sweet nourishment from a mix of peach nectar, watermelon and strawberries. The color was extraordinary -- so was the weeks long adventure from egg to butterfly!
