With summer like temperatures this past weekend my sons and I hiked up the Appalachian Trail to a great mountain top vista to celebrate their birthday’s by watching a sunset in our favorite park, Shenandoah. After climbing on all of the boulders along the trail, we got to the summit about an hour before sunset. While eating dinner with this amazing view we watched as fog slowly stared to form in the valleys and work its way up the mountains. With in a hour, around the same time as sunset, the fog was so thick all we could see was a wall of white. So we pack up our things and hike by headlamp back down the mountain. It was a great way to end the weekend and to celebrate their birthday’s.
