Behind The Lens

Location

My sister and myself were so excited to board a Tall Ship in the Harbour of Toronto. As we set sail ,dusk arrived with a looming storm which added to our excitement. Always camera in hand I hoped to capture the city from a distance among the rolling waves. Toronto is spectacular in everyway, especially at night.. Fortunate that the rain held off and we sailed for 2 hours around the bay. I have never had this privilege, too see the city glowing and the CN Tower proudly lit, sailing on a Heritage Ship.

Time

It was early evening by the time we set sail , the sky was grey with out a sunset.

Lighting

The lighting was natural as to not pick up any lights the ship had running, I went to the stern for most of the pics I took.

Equipment

I have a Coolpix P530 and I used night time landscape setting without flash.

Inspiration

I have always wanted to get a great pic of the harbour surrounding the bay area in the heart of Toronto. I took this trip mainly for this reason and to experience the open water on a Tall Ship.

Editing

I enhanced the lighting and adjusted the exposure to eliminate shadows and illuminate the clouds coming in.

In my camera bag

Besides my camera I have a super soft cloth for wrapping my camera for extra protection against the cold and bumping in the bag. I also keep gloves and spare battery.

Feedback

Enjoy the moment and let the camera do the work, when you feel the excitement of capturing it comes thru in your photos.
