Location
This is taken in my condo dining room. There is a window to the model's left and I the background behind the red curtain. The Model, Kira's , pose looks natural, contemplative and serene. She is a wonderful professional model and has become my good friend. We are totally at ease with each other.Time
It was taken around 10: 00am when the sunlight is at it's strongest through the east window. The sunlight comes through the window at an angle. This creates a wonderful play of light and shadow.Lighting
KIra did many poses while we talked then just held the cup and gazed upward as if examining in her minds eye the day to come.Equipment
I used my Canon 70D , hand held. Aperture f/5, Shutter speed 1/60 Focal length 50/1Inspiration
I was inspired by the light and by the natural grace of the model.Editing
The only post processing I did was some minor cropping. I was give myself some extra come.In my camera bag
Normally, I have one camera my Canon 70D, four lenses. Three zooms and one fixed . Some filters but don't use them much. I don't want to be bogged down with equipment and too many choices. I prefer to make things simple so that I can create a rapport with my subject.Feedback
Advise is such a personal thing and my answer will seem very simplistic. But here is it. Try to "see" things differently . If you are looking through the view finder and what you see seems boring, typical, or like you have seen it before , then don't take the picture. Do something to make it unique. Laying, jump up , move the suject, turn off the lights , turn on the lights. And pay attention. Then snap when you see "IT"... Oh and set the camera to auto bracket.
