I really hate to use ‘the face only a mother could love’ because obviously all creatures on earth are by definition beautiful. But….I present the warthog. The warthog is in the genus Phacochoerus, family Suidae.
They’re a solid little beast, height about 30 inches. They’re members of the same family as domestic pigs, but present a much different appearance. Their large, flat heads are covered with "warts," which are actually protective bumps. Warthogs also sport four sharp tusks which they primarily use to dig up roots to eat, but they’re pretty effective as defense weapons, too.
I took this picture in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania, Africa.

Well dalink, I have seen them at a zoo but not as fierce looking as these! I had no idea they had 4 tusks and the size you show here is plain scary. Any idea why one seems to be kneeling? A perfect shot, a perfect photo! It's hard to convey how wonderful your art is and how it talented you are but I count on the fact that I have told you a million times. Just AMAZING!

I think they kneel just because it makes it easier to tear those roots out of the ground. Hmmm....I'll have to do myself some reearch about that. Thank you, Sweet One.
