Stumpy Tailed Lizard - Tiliqua rugose, also known as a Shingleback Lizard. This is one of a number I saw crossing the road. Sadly some had been hit by cars. They are difficult to see in the dappled light. They mate for life, but live separately but reunite as monogmous pairs during mating season.
