My favorite part of visiting the mountains is the view, especially that at night. While waiting for eastern clouds to disperse in order to shoot a composite image of the Perseid shower, I found myself primarily looking to the south to catch the milky way in clear skies. The orange glow is light pollution, from I believe Lynchburg, VA.
