Behind The Lens

Location

A falconry and bird display came to the island where I live - the owner saw me standing wishing I could me closer and that I was calm and quiet and invited me into his enclosure to meet his beloved birds and take some photos.

Time

This was taken mid afternoon.

Lighting

It was mid afternoon with some dappled lighting coming through the trees above which helped to light the scene but avoid shadows.

Equipment

Canon 6D with 50mm lens - no flash or tripod or anything else

Inspiration

I absolutely love birds and animals and wish I could do this everyday. I hope to show the world that animal lives matter.

Editing

Yes a little improvement in levels and curves

In my camera bag

I try to travel as light as possible - if I am heading to somewhere where different lenses and conditions might be suitable - I take a backpack which even includes some fairy lights for forest scenes and a little spray bottle in case some water droplets might look good on some flowers or grasses.
