Some boats do have overly optimistic captains, which also means a serious lack of experience. Our lake is usually calm and tame, but winds and waves here have been known to develop out of nowhere, and in no time at all.

So the neighbor's boat tore itself free from its moorings and went off to explore the distant wonders of the mysterious Downwind.

We had to chase it before it met with some rocks... and luckily, everything ended well.
