The unprecedented scale and coverage of the 2018 eruption in Hawaii decimated a large area of farmland and forests. Due to the lava passing through so many peoples lands and properties scenes like this were all to common as local residents who had been displaced by the lava found themselves with not much to do except look on in a combination of awe, fear, wonder and sadness.
