But I knew I tried

I have been away hiking the John Muir Trail. For 31 days, to be exact. I am back in the city now where I left for the Sierra Nevada to do the thru hike, and while downloading and sorting through all the photos to edit, I’ve decided to continue posting the remainder of the photos taken at and around South Lake before walking the 210 miles through the wilderness. This particular shot was taken at sunrise, at least attempted, since the sun never came through due to the thick blanket of clouds that had lingered all morning as clearly seen here. I liked the fact that the view of the lake with the peaks in the background was hardly obstructed by the trees while capturing the reflection of the the sky in the water was relatively easy. Wished that the weather cooperated, but I also knew that we didn’t always get lucky. But I knew that I tried.
