I was so excited today to come upon a flock of Cormorants in the middle of the Fox River. Quite a few were in trees, some were swimming, some were flying and others like these two were standing on a log sticking out of the river. I have never seen one before in the wild. The dark one is the adult and the one with the wings spread is a juvenile. They land to spread their wings and dry them in the wind. These birds can stay underwater for over 70 seconds so it is not easy to tell where they will surface,
