Funny enough, despite my favorite shooting time, sunset, this photo was taken at midday, around 12pm. However, we were deep in the jungle, so the light was very subtle and photo shooting when the sun was high up was actually the best thing ever!Lighting
This photo was taken deep in one of the Balinese jungles. Light in the jungle is very magical and unpredictive, helping you to get as creative as possible. On this specific photo, the light was broken down by the palm leaves we were staying under, making this magical scenery. The fireflies on the photo were added in post production, to really emphasize the magical atmosphere of the jungle.Equipment
I used my Fuji X-T3 Camera with Fujion 58mm lens. Natural light and no tripod :) When traveling I am trying to keep my equipment as light as possible, so this setup for me is ideal!Inspiration
I love jungles, and I am fascinated by everything in the jungle, especially the people living in the jungle. Their mysterious way of life, they want you to see them only when they want so, and they are keeping their culture same like it was centuries ago. Having the model dressed like an Amazon woman and hiding herself with the palm leaf presents the shyness and the mysteriousness of these people.Editing
I always keep the editing as minimal as possible. On this shot, obviously, the fireflies were added - so the whole jungle magic is brought to live. Also I am adjusting the contrast and the shadows. All the post processing is done in Lightroom and Photoshop.In my camera bag
When I travel, I travel as light as possible, especially if I am planing to do hikes in the jungles. I always have my Fuji XT3 camera, Objective: Fujion 58mm and Fujion 24mm. Usually these two objectives cover the most of the photos I would like to take. Besides my camera I always bring my drone, DJI Mavic Pro 2Feedback
If you want to capture something similar, make sure to observe the scenery. Patches of light in a deep forest or jungle works like magic. Bring the exposure down so you will have great shadows and black background.
