This image was taken in Ontario, Canada on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.Time
I was sharing the model with another photographer and friend of mine. It was about 2-3 in the afternoon but with high clouds the lighting wasn't too harsh.Lighting
As I said above, that God for overcast lighting which placed Makayla in a massive lightbox with few harsh shadows.Equipment
I believe I hand-held my Canon 7D with my trusty go-to lens - the 24-105mm zoom.Inspiration
Makayla is a great model and has been published several times in Canadian journals. The chance to work with her was a real gift! She truly made this image her own! For instance, notice that she's not laying flat on her abdomen but rising slightly on her elbows and knees to create separation from the stone ledge upon which she posed - Magic!Editing
Fortunately, I didn't really have to do much post processing at all other than darken down the falls in the background which were slightly blown out when I properly lit Makayla.In my camera bag
Around town, I currenly travel with my Canon R6 mkII, my favorite 24-105 mm zoom, one or two Flashpoint speedlights with a trigger and a polarizer filter in case I need to darken things down. I also carry a platypod stand in case I need to make longer exposures. I place a simple ball-head on it for my camera.Feedback
