Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot at Nallagandla Lake in Hyderabad, India

Time

This is probably one of my favorite images. I remember, this was shot in Aug'18. I went for birding late afternoon after finishing couple session. I was observing this bird (Pied Kingfisher) hovering around. My main camera was out of charge and had to take out my backup camera. Had no tripod or monopod. After waiting patiently, I captured this.

Lighting

I wanted to freeze the image, there was light coming down so, I decided to bump up ISO a bit.

Equipment

For this image, I used Canon 700D (T5i) with kit lens (55 - 250mm IS II). No other equipment used.

Inspiration

I believe photography is one of the best educational tool to conserve nature.

Editing

Just a minor crop, adjusted white balance and exposure.

In my camera bag

Earlier I was using Canon, but now switched over to Nikon, with couple of Tamron lenses & Godox lighting systems.

Feedback

If you have a camera, always carry it. Read & understand how your camera functions. Always keep your camera manual handy. Having an expensive camera & asking for camera settings doesn’t make you a photographer. Have patience. Practice as much as you can. RESPECT YOUR SUBJECT!
