Kuelap fortress was built by the Chachapoyas culture (north of Peru). Chahapoyas means People from the Clouds. My wife and me were there last weekend and as we walk the along its massive walls in solitude, feeling the clouds climbing toward us, the wind constant whisper reminded us why they were known as the people from the clouds.
