Location
I took this photograph in Corsica. Exactly in Calvì from the top of the fortress walls.Time
It was 6,22 dek 12 August 2018 when I was on holiday in this beautiful country that is Calvì. It was really the right time for a picture like that. The sun (now at sunset) created this pleasant long shadow.Lighting
In this shot I used the natural light provided by the sun in the waning phase. I waited a few minutes before shooting because I wanted a person only present on the square. The particularity of the photo is given by the long omnra drawn by the sun in this geometric square.Equipment
To make this photo I used my D850 equipped with the Nikon 70-200 f / 5; 1/1000; iso 320; focal length 175mm; spot detection. Shot made (of course) in manual and without the help of tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to mix the long shadow with the floor drawings of the square. The difficulty was to succeed in having the square with only one person present. Being a holiday period, there were many people walking in the street below me.Editing
After lightening the shadows slightly and with Camera Raw of Ps I have increased the details with Ps using "accentuate passage" after having previously converted the file in black and white. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag there are two Nikon camera bodies: the D850 and the D5. The photographic objectives that never fail are 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200 (all Nikon 2.8). I often go out to photograph with the 105 macro and 85 f / 1.4.Feedback
The photo does not present particular technical difficulties. as a whole it is quite simple. More than anything, I thought the idea of photographing the shadow on that floor was nice. The only difficulty (as already mentioned) was that of having had to wait until there was only one person present. Tips? Have a little patience and wait for the right time. This is why the photographer is a solitary traveler. :-)
