Elise is an imprinted bird with the Black Hills Raptor Center. She was stolen from her nest in Arizona in 1989 by people who wanted an exotic pet. When she was rescued she was ill from being fed an improper diet. She came to Reptile Gardens in 1990 and flew in bird shows on the grounds. She has been with the Black Hills Raptor Center since 2010 and has visited over 2,500 classrooms as an ambassador for all birds of prey.
