Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the fall of 2017. I was doing some part time driving for a large feedlot near my home town of Barrhead Alberta, and we had approximately 1500 acres of barley to the harvest of which they use for feed for the cattle that they feed. They do not raise enough grain for there own use as the feed around 13,000 head so they also buy grain from a lot of the local farmers.

Time

I believe this was early afternoon Not really sure of the exact time. maybe 3-4.00 clock.

Lighting

On this photo, it was the natural light of the day. I believe it was sunny at the time and looks like the grain straw was as there was lots of dust following the combine.

Equipment

I used my Canon Rebel T6 with my EFS 18-55 mm cannon macro 0.25m/0.8ft lens No tripod was used

Inspiration

Just trying to get some good pictures of the machinery and harvesting.

Editing

Very little. I did cut out some of the backgrounds on the side and a little light adjustment that's about it.

In my camera bag

I carry my Cannon Rebel6 along with the 18-55 lens along with my Canon 70-300 image stabilizer lens a spare battery extra flash, a remote shutter cable, plus and my tripod is always handy and a rain cover from those rainy days.

Feedback

No just go out and find the project that you may want to take photos of. I am lucky that I live in an area where there is lots of farming activity and not too far away, so you just have to keep the camera by your side and take that picture that catches your attention as there is always something to snap.
