I love that the broken fence is bordering the photo! It keeps my eyes looking at the bridge in the background. Awsome job!

Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken from the island of Alcatraz in the San Francisco Bay. The courtyard of the old prison had a tear in the fence looking out on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Time

The sun was setting which gave a glistering on the water. It made the bay look like gold

Lighting

Fog was rolling in from the ocean while they sun was setting. It made the scene look golden!

Equipment

I was visiting Alcatraz so I packed light and only took my Canon 760d with the 50mm prime lens. Using prime lenses brings out your creative side in you. It was

Inspiration

Sometimes being in the right place at the right time is all you need

Editing

The scene was so beautiful so I only had to do some basic editing in Lightroom. I played a bit with the hues and that's it.

In my camera bag

I always have my 17-55 f2.8 with me as I go shooting. I take my 70-300 telephoto lens and my Vanguard tripod. I have couple of filters like a polarizer and circular ND filter wich I mostly take with me.

Feedback

I'm a self-thought photogapher. If you want to take good pictures, you have to practice as much as possible! Every time I go out to shoot I learn something new, every single time! In my opinion you need to have a strong composition to take a good picture. You can only master this by practicing a lot! But maybe the most important thing is to do something you love! Shoot what makes you happy!
