On Sept. 14. 2018, I received a letter from Birds and Blooms magazine stating this picture was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Birds and Blooms Backyard Photo contest. It is now in the running to become a category winner (3 categories in all). Voting due on Nov. 1st. Fingers crossed as this is a honor which includes a cash prize. Update: the picture did not go forward to win the final prize but to be considered out of approximately 7,000 entrants was a suprise for me none-the-less.
