This male was flopping its wings to attract the female nearby. These birds were brought to Southern California from South Africa. Many locals hate these "invasive" birds much like they dislike immigrants. What I learn is that they may change the bird landscape just a little but through out history, like it or not, living things ends up on different land and water bodies by all kinds of means. The distances between places on earth is now even brought closer than ever due to modern large, affordable and fast transportation. I hope people would just relax and enjoy the world together while we can. Nothing lasts forever!
