I took this photo near a local railway, with abandoned buildings in the background.Time
About 6:00 PM, on April, 25th. It was a sunny and quite warm afternoon, and during a walk along the river, we crossed the railway.Lighting
Warm light of late afternoon, just before the beginning of "golden hour" is always a good choice.Equipment
The photo was shot on a Nikon D750, with a Sigma lens (24-105mm, f. 4.0) at full aperture.Inspiration
I was inspired by the contrast between the poppies and the light yellow background.Editing
Only a bit of post-processing with Lightroom, adjusting exposure and contrast, and cropping to frame only the poppies.In my camera bag

Best times to take picture like this (and other pictures, too) are early morning and late afternoon.
