Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on our holiday in Bulgaria. It was very close to the Bulgarian-Romanian border.

Time

Early afternoon.

Lighting

The photo was taken only with natural light. It was a bit cloudy so I was lucky because I didn't had the challenge with the harsh shadows.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon d750 with 85 mm 1.8 G.

Inspiration

When we were heading to the beach to spend our holiday we passed loads of lavender field and they are gorgeous. So I asked my Wife to be my model. I love to take landscape photos but in this case a beautiful person just ads to it.

Editing

I did post-processing with Adobe Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I never go outside without my d750 and I always have my 2 favorite lenses the Nikon 16-35 F4 and the 85 mm 1.8. In the most cases with this 2 angle I am happy. I really like to shoot with 70-200 but it is heavy and not the ideal to travel.

Feedback

To get really great shot's some plan it's necessary. As we passed the lavender fields I knew straight away that I have to photograph it that's why I purchased a white hat for my Love (it is a double win), she was happy with the hat and I could achieve my plan. White always looks good with strong contrast colors like lavender. When we arrived home and looked to the image I would go back and take the watch off, so next time I will pay more attention to the small details.
