I had driven by this silo in a farm field near Ford, VA on US 460 for years. One day when I passed by there was a For Sale sign posted. I called the owner and asked permission to photograph the silo. At first he was skeptical, but I told him it would be a nighttime photograph and that I had been taking timelpase photography. He gave me verbal permission and his email address.
Coming back late from the mountains on a clear night Sunday I stopped, set up, and started shooting. I used a hand held light to "paint" the silo and illuminate the foreground for a few frames. I returned to my vehicle about 25 minutes letting the camera to constant capture. When I returned to check on my setup, I saw my lens had fogged up with the dew sometime during the capture. I was able to salvage about 15 minutes of exposure (or 30 frames). I sent this to the owner, but never received a response.
