The Anzac Day Parade marched along Elizabeth Street to the cheers and flag flutter of a patriotic crowd. A quavering operatic voice rose above the pomp and ceremony. I searched through the throng for the source and spotted this petite lady singing her heart out. When her song finished I approached and complimented asking if she had performed professionally. Delightedly she went on to tell how she sang at the opening night of the Sydney Opera House in 1973- the very same place I now work.
