Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my old small country town of Reeds Spring MO. There is a main road that connects 4 city's together and I lived on a sub road that ran along side of it. If you went across the highway there is a small road that led me to this picture of someone's driveway.

Time

This photo was taken around 9 am on one of the foggiest mornings we have had in a long time. This is lake effect fog you see in the picture.

Lighting

We had a small rain storm that had just come through. The air was chilly and we had a huge lake close by. These conditions created a peeking sun through some very thick fog. I wanted to capture the stillness that was the air. With the ground and trees wet, it created this beautiful shot!

Equipment

This shot was captured with a stock Nikon P520. The setting was simply clicked over to cloudy.

Inspiration

I had been looking for that one foggy picture. I had been feeling a little down, so I went for a drive with my camera into some nature to rest myself. When I looked over and saw this picture, I felt peace.

Editing

The only processing I had done was tighten the lighting and put a little more red to bring out the fall colors of the Ozark Mountains.

In my camera bag

I normally have only my camera and a few extra batteries.

Feedback

Wait for the perfect lighting and the feeling of what would be the picture brings to your soul.
