Stillness of water

What followed the early tranquil morning at the lakeshore was the equally calm and quiet solitude at breakfast. After pondering a few different hiking scenarios in my head, I decided to move my campsite to Island Pass, a day earlier than planned. Since it was only 2 miles away, it was still quite early when I arrived there. Higher in elevation, the pass presented more snow along and around the trail and a few icebergs floating in the ponds and lakes. I put down my backpack and scouted the area for camping and photography. I eventually decided on one of the lakes close to the edge of the pass, facing straight at Mt. Ritter and Banner Peak. Hoever, the wind never seemed to stop blowing. After early dinner, I set up my cameras and patiently waited. Then, really close to the sunset, the reflections of the snow clad mountains in the lake became very clear. The wind was eventually dying down. And the stillness of water that mirrored the orange glow infused mountains entered my frame.
