This is a fledgling baby California Scrub Jay that I've rescued and am "sharing custody" with the family of Scrub Jays that lives in my garden. We are all friends, and the family knows I keep the Beeb safe from the cats, while also providing them all with tasty treats. Wild Mama and I are such good friends that she has even landed in my lap. This is the second beeb that I've helped this family of Jays keep safe from the kitties and raptors, and I do hope he grows up strong and happy like his older sibling did. Corvids are such clever birds!
