Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken in the amount Royal cemetery in the center of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Time

I was walking through the cemetery around noon when I came upon This gravestone buried in the snow. It seemed so fitting that the angel was face palming while being buried. I remember lying on my belly in the snowbank trying to get the exact shot.

Lighting

It was the middle of the afternoon, and I used a lens filter to filter out the bright sunlight.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon d3200 camera with a 35 mm lens, and a filter (the kind of filter I used I forget).

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this photo was the way that the gray stone was buried in the snow, and the angel just looked so sad to be buried so deep. It just seems so perfect.

Editing

Just a little color correction, enhancing contrast in Photoshop, nothing more.

In my camera bag

Usually when I go out to shoot photos, I we'll have my trusty 35 mm lens, some filters in case it's really bright out and an extra battery.

Feedback

Keep your eyes peeled for unusual situations and items that might catch your attention. Look for a good angle, such as like lying on the ground and looking up at the item which gives it a nice perspective or point of view.
