2018 - Project 52 - Week 24" - Sunday, June 17, 2018
The weather was not co-operating and usually they wet the dirt in the arena so that there is not so much dust flying around. They did not do that as much this time and we were covered in dust and dirt. At least that is my excuse for not taking a great shot at the rodeo this time but I did try!
This was taken at the Orangeville RAM Rodeo in Orangeville. This cowboy is bareback riding. Bareback riding is often the toughest on the cowboy's body with immense stress placed on the arm and back. The cowboy holds onto the bucking Bronc with one hand in a rigging that resembles a suitcase handle on a strap. He has to hold on for eight seconds and free hand must not touch his horse, equipment or body for the eight seconds.
He did hold on for the eight seconds! :)

Amazing capture Cher ! good choice of shutter speed for this one - despite the dust I think this one really turned out well. Congrats !

Great action shot, Cher! The dust only attests to the action of the scene and adds to it...

This is fabulous, Cher. If you're not careful, you're going to be known as an expert rodeo photographer! :)
