Location
This was taken on the back patio of a house on Fripp Island, SC. We were visiting for our son’s wedding.Time
I am pretty sure this was morning (mid-morning) and everyone in the house was trying to get ready for the rehearsal dinner taking place later that day.Lighting
Natural lighting, of course.Equipment
Only an iPhone. It was all I had access to at the moment and my daughter’s dog was looking so cute, I had to take a photo.Inspiration
Obviously this pug is adorable but he has quite the personality as well. I love to photograph kids and animals.Editing
Yes, always! With this particular photograph, I added HDR and then contrast. Then obviously chose black and white for drama. In my camera bag
A Nikon DSLR, a Sony point and shoot, various lens filters, zoom lens, extra batteries, additional SD cards.Feedback
Animals are great subjects, especially dogs. The key is to make sure they’re well played and tired so that you can get them to sit, lie down or stay where you want them (unless you’re going for action shots, of course)!
