Love this ... would love learn how to add colour to black and white as a complete novice is this done by layering ? Apologies for my ignorance

thank you:) I used adobe lightroom for this. In the field, where you can change the levels of each color, I changed saturation of each color except yellow to zero, then I used brush with zero saturation to paint some points of the image with yellow color except tram:) my english is not really great, I hope it will be understandable :)
