After watching a wonderful sunset and wrapping up photographing the last light, I began my hike back to the car. I came over a ridge and saw the moon rising above these mountain peaks. I decided to extend my hike (even though it meant walking back in darkness) to find another place to photograph this night scene. I wandered around and found a nice area of wildflowers with a view of the glacier. Night photography is not for everybody given the challenges, but it is experiences like this that make it compelling for me.
