This was our car during our last trip through southern Africa. We bought and equipped her ourselves. The freedom you have while travelling with you own car is just the best, especially in southern Africa. We could just take our time and enjoy everything that each place could offer us. In this picture we camped in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana. We were totally alone on this camping spot. I think the closest other human soul was about 20 km away. Nowadays, that is something quite special which I still cherish...

Location
In the Kgalagadi desert in Botswana. Our first trip with our 'new' car into the bush. We didn't know how much our car could handle yet, so we were afraid of every little mudpool! Quite funny when you look now after what we've 'made' our car do ;)!Time
This photo was taken very early in the morning. During the night it gets really cold in this desert, but as soon as the sun comes up the tent started to warm up quickly. Nevertheless, it was such an amazing view and place, that Lars decided to stay in the tent a little bit longer!Lighting
The freshness of the early morning sun gives the perfect feeling to this picture, soft and relax, which was exactly how we felt.Equipment
Nikon D3300 with a 18-300 mm /f13 lensInspiration
I wanted to capture that feeling of total emptiness. There was no human being around for miles and that night you could hear how quit it was. It is difficult to capture such a feeling, but I think it becomes clear throught the vastness of the grassland and the look of Lars in the distance.Editing

We just have the Nikon D3300 with a 18-300 mm lens. We bought this lens specifically because we wanted to be able to zoom into wildlife, but also still be able to make landscape pictures. And we have been very happy with that for over 3 years!Feedback
Whenever you are somewhere that gives you a great feeling, try and capture it in your own personal way.
