This image was captured during a portfolio session at my home studio.Time
The photo shoot was arranged for mid-afternoon, but the time of day made no difference at all as I was controlling the light in my studio.Lighting
This image was all about the light, I used a large octobox for the backlight as you can see in the image and I used a large octobox to light the subject.Equipment
Shot with my Nikon D800, both Octobox’s were lit with Elinchrom D-Lites, very basic, but effective.Inspiration
I’d spoken with the model about creating this shot as I wanted to create something new for the model and my portfolio. I wanted the image to be erotic, yet safe for work purposes, the pose had to be just right and the model was perfect for the job!Editing
I did sharpen the image in Adobe Ps to make it ‘pop’ a little more.In my camera bag
Always my Nikon D800, D850 and Z6, with a range of Nikon lenses. I also carry a Nikon speed light as a back up fill light when shooting in natural light.Feedback
You have to enjoy the process, create your own style and don’t be afraid to make mistakes, some of my best work has come from getting things wrong, you learn from those mistakes. Avoid critics, most of them are getting things wrong too, so follow your heart!
