Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The warehouse comprised an entire block. I circled around it several times. And In its decay, it was completely magnificent. I could’ve photographed it all day long.

Time

I believe it was late morning perhaps 10 or 11 AM

Lighting

It was a clear day in the fall. The sun was out it was a clear day in the fall. The sun was out

Equipment

My Canon 6D and my Tamrin 24-70mm. I was shooting hand held as I was walking around quite a bit

Inspiration

Here in California we just don’t have all the old buildings taking up so much real estate. So being in the Northeast, the rust belt really, it’s a sight I don’t get to see very often.

Editing

I used Silver efx. It’s my go to for black-and-white.

In my camera bag

Battery lens cleaner, some ND filters that I don’t use maybe my 40 mm. Postcards from my last show so I can give out contact information when needed

Feedback

If you’re driving along and see something you want to photograph, pull the car over. Always pull the car over and take a picture. It’s OK to be five or 10 minutes late if you get the shot you’re driving along and see something you want to photograph, pull the car over. Always pull the car over and take a picture.
