Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my hometown Bondamunda, India. I usually visit my parents during winter, in and around Christmas, it was during one of those visits this shot was taken. I'm an amateur photographer and I'm still working on my skills.

Time

It was dusk. We were out in the rice fields for a small evening stroll. I looked up and was stunned by the different shades of orange in the sky and immediately pulled out my phone to snap this. I remember clicking a series of the sunset from various angles. This was taken on 11th December 2016 at 5:45pm.

Lighting

I usually prefer the nature play its role in most of the pictures I take. I did not interfere with the lighting in this one. The sunrays masked over the storm shaped clouds on a cold winter evening already had the poetry that the shot needed. No extra lighting elements were involved.

Equipment

This was shot on a MiS3 phone camera with 4.225mm focal length f/2.0 aperture 1/12 shutter.

Inspiration

I'm a sucker for great and unique landscapes. I always strive to capture landscapes that look new and fresh. This stunning and dramatic sunset on the countryside inspired me to take this photo.

Editing

I clicked this on my phone using the HDR effect. A little contrast was added to correct the white balance and give an edge to the colors.

In my camera bag

I'm basically a phone photographer so all I carry with me is my Redmi cellphone.

Feedback

Be highly observant of your surroundings, especially nature. It helps you capture the ordinary in a unique light.
