On a beautiful day in May, my husband and went for an ATV ride on the Delta Junction Bison Range, located near the Alaska Highway close to our house in Delta Junction, Alaska. The trees were just starting to green up, and patches of snow still lingered in the woods. In the fields between the trees, we found clumps of these lovely purple pasqueflowers, also called prairie crocuses.
